Ford Electric Explorer is not Connecting to Android Auto Troubleshooting
Based on the connection type, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Wired Connection
- Make sure to use a certified charging cable, preferably the one that came with the phone or a certified replacement.
- Wait to connect your phone until after the vehicle has started. There can be connectivity concerns if the phone is connected before the vehicle is on.
- Make sure to use the front USB port. Android Auto will not work from the rear port.
- Confirm Android Auto is activated on your phone before initiating a connection process.
- Confirm both USB tethering and Bluetooth are turned on in the phone settings.
- Ensure the Android Auto app is up to date.
If you have gone through all the steps above, try restarting your phone and then trying to connect.
Wireless Connection
- Ensure your device has Wi-Fi turned on.
- Remove your vehicle from your device's Android Auto settings.
- Confirm Android Auto is activated on your phone before initiating a connection process.
- Confirm both USB tethering and Bluetooth are turned on in the phone settings.
- Ensure the Android Auto app is up to date.
If you have gone through all the steps above, try restarting your phone.
Note: Lollipop 5.0 or higher operating system is required.
