How to Troubleshoot CarPlay Connection Issues in your Ford Electric Explorer
If you are experiencing any Apple CarPlay connection issues please follow the steps below to resolve these:
Wired Connection
- Ensure you are using a certified Apple Lightning® cable to connect if you want to use a wired connection.
- When disconnecting the device from the USB cable, make sure to select the Disconnect icon.
- Delete all vehicle profiles from the CarPlay app settings on your device. This is found in the General Settings menu.
- Ensure your device has the latest iOS software level.
- Restart the device.
- Restore the infotainment system to factory settings.
Wireless Connection
- Verify that your phone and vehicle are capable of wireless connectivity through CarPlay.
- Ensure your device has the latest iOS software level.
- Be sure that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your device.
- Reset the Network Settings on your device, which will reset all existing wireless connections that have been previously established and restore the factory defaults for the network settings only.
- Restart the device.
- Delete all vehicle profiles from the CarPlay app settings on your device. This is found in the General Settings menu.
- Attempt to connect via USB and, once successful, disconnect and attempt wirelessly connecting once more.
- Turn the vehicle on and off.
- Restore the infotainment system to factory settings.
