E-Transit Ford Commercial Solutions and Telematics
Ford Commercial Solutions uses the connectivity hardware available in Ford vehicles to access clean and secure manufacturer-grade vehicle data. This data can be accessed via Ford Telematics, a web-based software platform and subscription service designed to help commercial vehicle customers better manage and optimize the efficiency of their fleet. Ford Data Services also provides data access via an API (application programming interface) to integrate data into proprietary systems or permits access through third-party telematics service providers.
Can E-Transit customers access telematics data without subscribing to Ford Telematics?
Yes. The battery-electric vehicle energy monitoring and vehicle management tools can be accessed as standalone features. Additionally, OEM-grade battery-electric data will be available through Ford Data Services for integration with proprietary software or accessible through existing telematics service provider networks – eliminating the need for third-party plug-in devices (PIDs).
How does in-cab coaching work?
In-cab coaching provides valuable insights into driver behavior and can inform the business of coaching opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve compliance.
What is the benefit of pre-conditioning the cabin by the fleet manager?
Pre-conditioning of the vehicle cabin can be done by the driver or remotely via Ford Telematics by the fleet manager, to help improve cabin comfort and preserve range by conditioning while the vehicle is still plugged in to the charger using electricity from the grid, not the battery.
