Can I use Alexa Built-In with my Ford?

• You must have an Amazon account.

  • You can activate Alexa Built In with the basic Amazon subscription.

  • You do not have to sign up for a premium account. 

• You must have an authorized modem for the Ford Cloud to enable the Alexa feature. 

• Your vehicle must have SYNC^® 4 with enhanced voice recognition. 

First, you must activate FordPass Connect in your vehicle and connect to your FordPass account.

1. To activate Alexa Built-In, go to the settings screen in your vehicle.
2. Select Amazon Alexa, then select “Yes” or “Get Started” to set up Alexa Built-In
3. From here, you can proceed in either of two ways:
   1. From your phone, scan the QR code showing on your SYNC screen and sign into your Amazon account, or create an account if you don’t have one already
   2. On your preferred device, go to Amazon.co.uk/code, input the code you see on your SYNC screen and log in or create an Amazon account
4. Follow the steps on your SYNC screen to finish registering Alexa in your vehicle
5. Then, if you wish, you can select “Yes” to enable the Alexa wake word on your SYNC screen

If Listen to the Wake Word is turned on in your vehicle, simply say the wake word (Alexa) and then the question or command. Or, if Listen to the Wake Word is not turned on, press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel. After the tone, you must still say “Alexa” and then the question or command.

Note: Your modem has to be authorised to utilise Alexa.

• Over the Air (OTA) Capability Date - free trial for Ford Premium Connectivity starts when the trial is activated.

• Warranty Date - feature delivered in plant and free trial starts with the warranty start date.

• 2022+ Model Year vehicles will receive a trial to Ford Premium Connectivity.

Note: All other vehicles are excluded from the trial and a Connected Service plan purchase will be required. 

• Auto-renew will take effect after the paid trial or until you cancel.

• You will receive a prorated refund if you cancel your Connected Service plan for the remainder of the days left in the month. 

Note: If you cancel on the last day of the active month, you will not receive a refund.

• The Connected Service plan is paid monthly based on enrolment purchase dates.

A: Alexa Built-in and Ford Premium Connectivity are available in UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Germany & Austria. If you travel outside of these countries some Alexa functionality may be impacted.

Ford Premium Connectivity is a paid subscription allowing you to stream your favourite music, podcasts, audiobooks (and more) right to your vehicle using intuitive Alexa voice commands – and you can enjoy a variety of available, in-vehicle brain games as well as stay up to date on local and global news.
