Key Code

A key code specifies which key will open a specific lock.

Official Ford dealers can keep the key code of each Ford supplied by them for a number of years. The reason for this is to simplify the ordering of additional keys. These key codes will not always be stored. If the selling Ford dealer no longer has the key code, then the dealer will have to find out the key code by removing the lock cylinder of your vehicle. Based on this key code, a new key can then be delivered.

There may be costs associated with gaining a key code or replacment key which should be agreed with the dealership.
