What are Excess Mileage Charges and How Are They Calculated on Ford Options and Ford Options Cashplan finance agreements?

If you return your Ford exceeding the agreed-upon mileage, you will be charged an excess mileage fee. This fee is calculated differently depending on if you return the vehicle at the end of the agreement or early.

When you reach the end of your finance agreement

We calculate your payments on your finance agreement based on the mileage you agreed at the start. If you exceed the agreed mileage you decrease the value of the vehicle and, if you return it, you will incur excess mileage charges plus VAT. Please click here and view Page 1 to see examples of how excess mileage charges are calculated.

If you voluntarily terminate and return the vehicle early how do you calculate excess mileage?

We calculate the agreed mileage on a pro rata basis adjusted on a monthly basis. If you have exceeded the pro rata amount you will incur excess mileage charges plus VAT. If you return the vehicle partly through the month we round up the agreed mileage to the end of the month. Please click here and view Page 2 to see examples of how excess mileage charges are calculated when you terminate early.
