How are recalls determined?
How does Ford decide what vehicles to include in a recall?
All recall programs are VIN specific. Vehicles involved in a recall may be identified by specific build dates within a model year, the assembly plant, or other factors. If a program is announced on a vehicle, Ford will notify the last owner of record by mail. Should you receive a letter or find that your vehicle is involved in a recall, we recommend you contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.
How does Ford decide to issue a recall?
Ford constantly monitors vehicles in production and in operation. We identify areas of concern through investigation of consumer and dealer feedback.
