Low Emission Zones and Clean Air Zones
To improve air quality, some local authorities are introducing low emission zones or clean air zones. If your vehicle exceeds emission standards, you may have to pay a charge if you drive in these zones.
Petrol vehicles need to meet Euro 4 emission standards. Diesels need to meet Euro 6 emission standards.
Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ)
The London ULEZ was expanded on 29 August 2023 to cover almost all areas inside the M25. For further information about the London ULEZ visit tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone
To see if your vehicle is affected visit tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/
If your van is not ULEZ compliant you may be able to use The TFL Scrappage Scheme for financial assistance when purchasing an All-Electric Ford E-Transit.

Clean Air Zones (CAZ)
Currently there are 7 clean air zones in operation in England. There are 4 types of clean air zone, each class determines which road users are affected. For instance a Class A CAZ applies to buses, coaches, taxis and private hire vehicles.
