What is SYNC Valet Mode and How do I Use it?

Valet Mode allows a customer to lock the centre console display so that none of their information on the system can be accessed until it is unlocked with the correct Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Valet Mode Instructions

Important: Instructions, as well as what valet mode will limit on the vehicle, may vary by vehicle model regardless of SYNC system. If when giving instructions, there is a step missing or an option the customer does not see, refer to their Owner's Manual.

SYNC 2

Advise the customer to:

Press the MENU hard button near the vehicle's SYNC screen.
Select the Valet Mode tab on the touchscreen.
Press Enable Valet Mode.
Enter a four-digit PIN of their choice.
Press Enter.

Note: The system will ask them to re-enter the PIN.

Re-enter their PIN.
Select Enable to activate Valet Mode.

The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.

Note: The valet mode can be reset if the customer forgets their PIN. To reset valet mode, simultaneously hold down presets 1 and 5 while on the PIN entry screen.

SYNC 3

Advise the customer to:

Press Settings on their vehicle's SYNC screen.
Press Valet Mode.

Note: A message will ask them to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Select Yes to continue.
Enter a four-digit PIN of their choice.
Press Done.
Re-enter the PIN to complete the process.

The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.

Important: If the customer is locked out and needs to reset the PIN, they can enter 3681 and the system will unlock.

SYNC 4

Advise the customer to:

Press Settings on their vehicle's SYNC screen.
Tap Valet Mode.
Touch Yes when prompted by the pop-up.
Create a four-digit PIN
Press Done.

Note: If the customer is locked out and needs to reset the PIN, they can enter 3681 and the system will unlock.

SYNC 4A

Advise the customer to:

Click on the Home Icon on their vehicle's SYNC screen.
Tap CONTROLS.
Press Valet Mode.
Create a four-digit PIN.
Click Done
