How do I enrol in Usage-Based Insurance for my Ford?
The enrolment process for Usage-Based Insurance requires input from both you and your Insurer.
Signing up for Usage-Based Insurance
- Obtain insurance quotes from the insurance company of your choice.
- The Insurer will call Ford's Eligibility Application Programming Interface to check if you can be offered a Usage-Based Insurance policy.
- If you are eligible, your Insurer can offer you a Usage-Based Insurance quote.
- Choose your preferred quote, provide your Insurer with relevant details, and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Note: Your Insurer will then request data from Ford by providing your registration number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and one of the following:
- Your email address
- Your first and last name
- Your phone number
- Respond to the enrolment prompt that appears on your vehicle screen the next time you turn on your vehicle.
- Tap Yes for data collection to commence.
- Connected Vehicle data elements will be transferred to Ford and the Autonomic Transportation Mobility Cloud. Your Insurer will then be able to collect data.
- You will be notified that your vehicle is successfully enroled into data-sharing with your insurance company via email and a FordPass®* notification.
- Tap No, followed by Continue, if you do not agree to participate. Data sharing will not progress.
- Tap Ask Me Later if you need more time to make a decision. This selection allows 20 attempts to be made. After 20 attempts, the system will register the prompt as if you selected No.
- Tap Yes for data collection to commence.
Once enroled, you can opt in and out of data sharing temporarily. However, this is not recommended, as it may impact your policy with your Insurer. If you are unsure of the policy requirements, reach out to your Insurer directly.
