Earlier this year, we told you about a unique Ford hypercar: The Team Fordzilla P1. A collaboration between Ford designers and the gamers who would drive it, this totally original, virtual race car was the first of its kind.
In March 2020, we launched the P1 project on Twitter with a series of eight polls to help shape the virtual race car. Since then, 250,000 votes helped to guide the creative decisions made by our design team.
Eight concept vehicles were presented to a panel of Ford experts, who shortlisted two designs. These two designs went head-to-head in a final twitter poll.
The winner was clear. Over 80% of Fordzilla fans voted for designer Arturo Ariño's breath-taking vision.
It took our design team just seven weeks to bring the winning concept for the Team Fordzilla P1 into the real world.
All the elements voted for by nearly 250,000 gamers on Twitter are there. The monocoque structure partially covered by a jet fighter-style canopy. The sleek GT-like front end. The completely exposed rear.

In 2021, we're planning to take the Team Fordzilla P1 on tour. All being well, P1 will travel across Europe visiting shows and events, so the gamers who helped create this unique race car get the chance to see it in the metal.
